Dr. Janet N. Nwaukoni is a millennial family medicine physician with a strong background in both quantitative and qualitative research. As a first-generation Nigerian-American, she brings a deep understanding of cross-cultural healthcare needs. Her passion lies in advocating for underserved communities, particularly in rebuilding trust among patients who have historically faced medical mistrust and systemic barriers to care. Additionally, she is actively involved with health policy initiatives aimed at creating collaborative, integrative care models for women and children.
Her most recent project is with the Riverview Wellness Village, a recovery housing center addressing a critical gap in Philadelphia’s wellness ecosystem. Her work focuses on integrating primary care, behavioral health, and addiction medicine to support patients in their recovery journey and improve long-term health outcomes. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Nwaukoni is deeply invested in mentorship and medical education.
